Trading Journal
The Trading Journal is the diary of your trades: a calendar with the result of every day, the statistics of the month, the fill history and the notes you write yourself.
Open the Journal
In the command bar, click the Trade Journal / History icon.
The Journal refreshes itself every time you come back to the window. 🔄 reloads the data right away. ◀ and ▶ change month.
The month cards
| Card | Content |

| Profit Factor | Gross profit of the month divided by gross loss |
| Win Rate | The percentage of closed trades in profit |
| Day Win Rate | The percentage of days closed in profit |
| Avg Win / Loss | The average profit of winning trades, in green, and the average loss of losing trades, in red, for example +$120.00 / -$80.00 |
| Trades / Lots | How many closed trades and how many contracts |
| Trading Days | The days with at least one closed trade |
| 📈 Monthly P&L | The P&L of the month. Click it to open the Monthly Equity Chart |
| Win / Loss Days | How many days in profit and how many at a loss |
The calendar
📅 Trading Calendar shows the month from Sunday to Friday, plus the Weekly column with the total of the week. Saturday is not shown.
Every day with trades shows the P&L and the number of trades: green in profit, red at a loss. Click a day to see its details, or a Weekly box to see the whole week.
A trade belongs to the day it was filled according to your PC's clock, as in the Account Dashboard. If you trade from the United States, Sunday-evening trades appear in the Sun column and count in the week that starts that day.
The selected day or week
Trade History
📋 Trade History lists the fills of the day or week: Time, Symbol, Account, FCM, Side, Qty, Price, Open/Close and P&L. The columns have the same meaning as in the Account Dashboard.
Trade Analysis
📊 Trade Analysis summarizes the selection: P&L, Trades, Win / Loss, ⏱️ Avg Duration, Avg Winner, Avg Loser, 🏆 Best Trade and ⚠️ Worst Trade.
The 📈 Hourly Trades chart shows how many trades you closed in each hour. Click the chart to switch to Hourly P&L, the P&L per hour. With a week selected, one more click shows Daily P&L, the P&L per day.
Day Notes
In 📝 Day Notes you write the notes of the selected day. Notes are saved with 💾 Save or automatically when you leave the box; ✓ Saved appears.
Monthly Equity Chart
The 📈 Monthly P&L card opens the Monthly Equity Chart: the Equity Line, that is the cumulative P&L of the month day after day, and the Daily P&L (Bars). The Toggle View button cycles through View: Both, View: Equity Only and View: Bars Only.
Where the data comes from
- The Journal reads the fill history recorded on your PC, for all accounts. There are no account filters and no export.
- At restart, TickerExplorer completes the history with the fills the broker keeps, only for connected accounts that already have recorded fills. A new account starts recording from its first trade filled with TickerExplorer.
- P&L is gross: commissions are not included.
- Days and hours are your PC's, throughout the window and in the Monthly Equity Chart.
- The rows created by ⚖️ Reconcile appear in the history with zero P&L and do not count in the statistics.
- If you clear the history from the Account Dashboard, the Journal becomes empty.
