Drawings and studies
:::warning Drawings are not saved automatically Drawings stay on the chart while the window is open. They are not saved in the workspace or in the template, and TickerExplorer does not warn you when you close the window. To keep them, save them as a study. :::
Drawing tools
The tools are in the vertical bar on the left of the chart:

- Click the tool.
- Click in the chart, once or twice depending on the tool.
The horizontal line snaps to the instrument's tick.
After a drawing the tool turns off. To draw several objects in a row, turn on Stay in Drawing Mode. To cancel a drawing in progress, press Esc.
Drawing Defaults sets the appearance of new drawings.
Edit a drawing
- Drag the drawing to move it, or drag its ends to change its shape.
- Click the drawing to select it, then press Delete to remove it.
- Right-click the drawing to find:
- Edit Properties...: colors, style, Fibonacci levels and other options of the drawing;
- Clone: creates a copy;
- 🔒 Lock / 🔓 Unlock: locks the drawing so you do not move it by mistake;
- Delete: removes the drawing.
To remove all drawings from the chart, click Clear All Drawings in the toolbar and confirm.
Save and load studies
A study is a set of drawings saved with a name. Studies are available in all chart windows.
From the Study menu:

| Save as Default | Saves the drawings as the default study for the chart's instrument |
| Use Default | Loads the instrument's default study |
| Load Study | Loads a saved study |
| Remove Study from Chart | Removes the study from the chart without deleting it |
| Delete Study | Deletes a saved study |
To find your drawings again after closing the chart:
- Before closing, open the Study menu.
- Click Save Study... or Save as Default.
- When you open the chart again, use Load Study or Use Default.
