Connect your account to TickerExplorer
After you activate the login with R | Trader Pro, add the Rithmic account to TickerExplorer and connect.
Master and Follower accounts
In TickerExplorer every account has a role.
- Master (Full Login): the main account. TickerExplorer signs in to Rithmic with this account and receives market data, history, orders, and profit and loss from it. You can have only one Master account per broker type.
- Follower (Trading Only): an additional account you trade on. You can use it in two ways:
- on its own, trading on that account individually;
- for copy trading, letting it replicate the orders of the Master account.
When you use a Follower for copy trading, in the REPLICATION SETTINGS section you choose how to replicate the Master orders:
- Replication Mode:
- Mirror (1:1): the same quantity as the Master;
- Scaled: the Master quantity multiplied by Scale Factor, for example 0.5 for half;
- Custom: currently calculates the quantity like Scaled, with the same Scale Factor.
- Max Contracts Per Order: the maximum number of contracts per order (0 = no limit).
- Replication Active: turns replication on that account on or off.
When to use each one:
- Use Master (Full Login) for the account you trade with and receive data from. The first account you add must be a Master.
- Use Follower (Trading Only) for additional accounts, both to trade on them on their own and to copy the trades of the Master.
The number of Follower accounts you can add depends on your license.
Account management
You configure your accounts in the Broker Account Management window:
- In the command bar, click the gear icon (tooltip Settings Menu).
- Click the Broker Account Management icon.
The window lists your broker accounts. For each one you see:
- its name, its role (Master or Follower) and its status (Enabled or Disabled);
- below it, the linked trading accounts with their status (Active). Trading accounts used for copy trading also show the Follower badge with the replication factor.
At the top you find Add Broker, Refresh and Sync FCM. At the bottom, for the selected account, Edit, Delete, Enable, Disable and Configure Trading.
Add the Master account
Have your Rithmic credentials and the connection parameters from your broker or prop firm at hand.
- In the Broker Account Management window, click Add Broker.
- In the Add Broker Account window, type a name to recognize the account in Account Name. Fields marked with an asterisk are required.
- In Role, check that Master (Full Login) is selected. It is already suggested for the first account; for the following accounts Follower (Trading Only) is suggested.
- In Username, enter your Rithmic username.
- In Password, enter your Rithmic password.
- In Environment, select the system given by your broker or prop firm.
- In Connection Point, select the connection point given by your broker or prop firm.
- Check that Account Enabled is selected.
- Click Save.
:::tip Which system and which connection point? They depend on your account, live or prop firm. Always use the parameters provided by your broker or prop firm. :::
The password is saved in encrypted form and only works for your Windows user on this PC.
To add a Follower account, follow the same steps: in Role keep Follower (Trading Only) and, if you use it for copy trading, fill in the REPLICATION SETTINGS.
Connect
- In the command bar, click the cloud icon (tooltip Master Connection Status - Click for details).
- In the Master account panel, click START MASTER.
While connecting, TickerExplorer shows the progress, for example Logging in to Rithmic... and Syncing accounts....
When you are connected:
- the MD (market data), H (history), TS (trading system) and P&L (profit and loss) indicators turn green;
- the button changes to STOP MASTER.
The color of the Master account icon in the command bar shows the connection status:
| Color | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Blinking cyan | Signing in |
| Green | All services connected |
| Yellow | Recovering the connection |
| Orange | Partial connection |
| Red | Not connected |
To disconnect, click STOP MASTER.
Every time you start TickerExplorer
TickerExplorer does not connect by itself at startup. Every time you start TickerExplorer:
- Connect the Master account with START MASTER, as described above.
- If you use Follower accounts, click the connections icon (tooltip Followers) and, in the FOLLOWERS panel, click CONNECT ACTIVE.
If the connection is temporarily interrupted while TickerExplorer is open, TickerExplorer automatically makes several reconnection attempts.
