Orders and position on the chart

Working orders​

Each working order is a horizontal line at its price, with a label such as BUY 2 @ 5000.25. Stop and stop limit orders are shown at their trigger price.

  • Change the price: drag the line or its label vertically. The price snaps to the tick.
  • Cancel: click ✕ next to the label. The order is cancelled right away, without confirmation. If it is the entry of a bracket, the whole bracket is cancelled.

If you drag the entry of a bracket, target and stop follow it and keep the same distance in ticks.

If a change fails, the line goes back to the starting price and TickerExplorer shows you the reason.

The right-click menu on the chart, from which you can send and close orders.

Target and stop​

The target and stop of a bracket are dashed lines: green for the target (TGT), red for the stop (STP). The label also shows the distance in ticks, for example TGT 1 @ 5010.00 (+40t).

  • Drag the label to move the target or stop.
  • ✕ removes only that leg. If only one leg is left, it cancels the bracket.

The position​

When you have an open position, a line shows the average entry price, with a label such as +2 @ 5000.25 $+125.00.

Near the line you find the ▲ TGT and ▼ STP handles: drag them to the price you want to add a target or a stop to the position.

In the panel, POSITION section:

  • Pos: the position: +N long (green), -N short (red), Flat with no position;
  • P&L: the open profit or loss, in dollars;
  • Avg: the average price.

Candle Trail Stop​

With Candle Trail Stop on, the stop of the active bracket follows the high or low of the previous candle. It turns off by itself when the position is closed.

Right-click to choose the activation ticks: from 0 (immediate) to 20 ticks, or Custom.... The value appears in the label, for example Candle Trail Stop (8t), and is remembered.

Fills on the chart​

Each execution is marked on the chart: green ▲ for a buy, red ▼ for a sell. Hover over the mark to see time, side, quantity and price.

The Today's fills check box also shows the executions of the last 24 hours of the selected accounts.

The order list​

At the bottom of the panel, the ORDERS section lists the working orders, for example Buy 1 Limit @5000.25 [Working], with the TGT and STP legs of brackets. With no orders it shows No working orders.

Line appearance​

In Properties you find three sections to customize colors, thickness and style:

  • ORDER ANNOTATIONS: order lines;
  • POSITION LINE: position line and what its label shows (P&L in Dollars ($), P&L in Points or Price Only);
  • FILL MARKERS: execution marks and fills of the last 24 hours on load.
